Passover Loss... The Virgin's Garment

In Jewish tradition, the outer garment is torn whenever the wearer learns of the death of a loved one.

The Virgin surely tore her dress.

The Passover Lamb's blood must have seeped into the fibers of her outer garment, perhaps smearing across it as she held the body of her son.

" They took the body of Jesus and bound it with burial cloths along with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom." St. Luke 19:40 NAB
